Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes January 28, 2026

Meeting Called to Order:

·         7:12 pm by President Brian Ink.  Meeting was delayed due to the heater not working.

Members in Attendance:

·         There were 9 members, and one new applicant in attendance. 

Minutes of Last Meeting:

·         Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept Dalton Ink, seconded by Jason Ink.

Treasurer Report:

·         Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Paige Liskey, seconded by Dalton Ink.

·         Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, dues, donations, and merchandise.

·         Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, and the credit card for postage stamps and envelopes.

New Business:

·         Peter Schroll is interested in having his Scout troop camp at the club sometime this year.  He would like to know some dates that would be good for the club.  He was asked to suggest some dates and the club would decide when a good time will be.

·         George Emanuel will have an NRA basic pistol at the club class Saturday, March 21^st.

·         The club will need snow removal for the next shotgun shoot.

·         The heater was not working during the meeting in the clubhouse.  Brian will a person to have it serviced.

·         Jeff is having a changeable rubber stamp made for use on membership cards to show the combination and expiration date.

New Members:

·         There was one new applicant, Lloyd Byerly Jr., sponsored by Kenny Byerly.

Old Business:

·         None.

Unfinished Business:

·         Brian will contact his accountant for help with the club’s IRS reinstatement.  The club keeps getting denied due to form issues.  The club was asked to reach out to any accountants they know who may be able to help.  The club does not need a regular accountant, only one-time help on this specific issue.

·         Due to know, resurfacing the driveway with millings may have to wait.

·         Clyde from Whitetails Unlimited will send information about this year’s event next week.  The club will need volunteers for both the setup on the Friday before the event, and the Saturday event.  Around eight people are needed for the setup and ten for the event.
