Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes September 23nd, 2026
Meeting Called to Order:
∙7:00 pm by President Brian Ink.
Members in Attendance:
∙There were 12 members and one new applicant in attendance.
Minutes of Last Meeting:
∙Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept by Lee Maxwell, seconded by Dalton Ink.
Treasurer Report:
∙Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Jason Ink, seconded by Dalton Ink.
∙Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, raffle tickets, and dues.
∙Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, Poole Forge donation, change for shoot,
insurance and the credit card for internet.
New Business:
∙The electronic front gate was rediscussed. PP&L can run a line from the pole and have a meter in that location.
The gate would need a new post, but the gate itself could be used; however, the estimate went up 30% to
$12,000 since this was previously discussed. It would have many useful features, but it was agreed upon that it
is overpriced and the club decided not to pursue the electronic gate at this time.
∙It was brought up that the current gate does need maintenance.
∙The next month will be club nominations for officers and trustees.
∙This upcoming shotgun shoot will include the member’s only raffle drawing.
∙The club was told about a gun bingo hosted by Twin Valley and Geigertown fire departments on October 10th.
New Members:
∙There was one new applicant, Christopher Bosler Jr., sponsored by Christopher Bosler Sr.
Old Business:
∙The Pool Forge Park community day is September 12th and will include the turtle race.
Unfinished Business:
∙The club received paperwork for the plaque that will be displayed on the donated bench at Poole Forge Park.
The inscription needs to be decided. Jeff mentioned that the benches are of good quality and that the club
received a good location.
∙The Scouts will be camping at the club from October 16th until the 18th and activities will include archery.
∙Brian met with lawyers to discuss the new property assessment and its tax implication on the club. Due to the
club’s participation in the “Clean and Green” program, the taxes will only slightly increase.
∙Jeff met with the accountant again and filled out a different form to her recommendations. He will meet with
her again before sending in the form so she can verify it is done correctly.
∙There is still no price on the new stools for the range. It was mentioned that Kerry Mindy’s son, Ian, does
welding and may be interested in helping to construct them.
Committee Reports:
∙The club has enough shells for the time being.
Remarks:
∙The club thanked Kerry and Sherri Mindy for their help running the kitchen for the August shotgun shoot.
Meeting Adjourned:
∙Meeting was adjourned at 7:17 pm, motion to accept by Dalton Ink, seconded by Jason Ink.
