Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes September 25th, 2025

Meeting Called to Order:

·         7:00 pm by President Brian Ink.

Members in Attendance:

·         There were 17 members, two returning applicants, and three new applicants in attendance. 

Minutes of Last Meeting:

·         Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept Bob Grimley, seconded by Rich Corday.

Treasurer Report:

·         Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Bob Grimley, seconded by George Emanuel.

·         Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, and raffle tickets.

·         Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, Trimmer Line and the credit card for building supplies, shells, background checks, and clay bird thrower, and drill bits.

New Business:

·         Soapmill Sawstone was interested in buying timber.  The club is not interested.

·         The next workday will be October 18^th.  The club will be emailed.  Road work will be done at another time.

·         The club asked for ideas of how to pattern shotguns that would save the screen at the 10-yard range.  It could be on the clay bird side.  George suggested a frame.

·         George spoke to the club about state new gun laws including universal background checks and a waiting period.  It is unlikely that they will pass.  The intent is to do away with private sales and gun shots and for the government to know every gun in the state.

New Members:

·         Two returning applicants were voted into the club, Jared Knight and Joseph Blosenski, both sponsored by Jason Ink.  One applicant, Jared Knight, was not in attendance.  There was one new applicant, Aidan Samuel, sponsored by Connor Holloran.

Old Business:

·         The thrower broke down again.  A surge protector was added and the inverter was replaced which should solve the issue.

Unfinished Business:

·         The club was reminded to think of things for the next workday.

Committee Reports:

·         It was suggested that the merchandise committee could get items such as stickers and magnets before the holidays.  The club has enough apparel.

Remarks:

·         It was noted that there was a good turnout for the meeting.
