Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes February 28th, 2026

Meeting Called to Order:

·         7:00 pm by President Brian Ink.

Members in Attendance:

·         There were 14 members, and one returning applicant in attendance. 

Minutes of Last Meeting:

·         Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept by George Emanual, seconded by Bob Grimley.

Treasurer Report:

·         Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Sharon Baer, seconded by Dalton Ink.

·         Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, dues, and merchandise.

·         Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, and shoot raffle.

New Business:

·         The club is interested in getting internet for the clubhouse and grounds for remote use of the thermostat and security camaras.  Members were asked for any suggestions of companies that may be able to provide this service.  T-Mobile already stated that they could not provide the club with service.  Starlink stated that they could service the club for $50 per month.  Upwards was also suggested.

·         George suggested purchasing ammunition since the price has decreased under President Trump but may rise after midterms.

New Members:

·         One returning applicant, Lloyd Byerly Jr., sponsored by Kenny Byerly, was voted into the club.

Old Business:

·         The heater was fixed since the last meeting.  It was clogged.

Unfinished Business:

·         The club has paperwork for the Whitetails event.  Tickets are $45 and a table is $900, which includes eight seats and a riffle.  It will take place Saturday, April 18^th at the same place as last year, the Kutztown fairgrounds.  The organization gave the club fliers and promotional materials.  Two tables will be purchased by the club for volunteers with the guns received going towards future raffles.  Food, including dessert, is taken care of by the event staff.  Around eight volunteers are needed for the setup on the Friday before the event, and around ten volunteers are needed for the event itself.  Any riffles won will be received by the winners that day.  Several members offered to volunteer during the meeting.

·         The driveway will be leveled out with millings one the weather is better.  Donny Myers has the millings in his possession to use.

Committee Reports:

·         The club currently has sufficient shells and merchandise.
