Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes August 27th, 2025

Meeting Called to Order:

·         7:00 pm by President Brian Ink.

Members in Attendance:

·         There were 17 members, one returning applicant, and one new applicant in attendance. 

Minutes of Last Meeting:

·         Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept Rainy Myers, seconded by Donny Myers.

Treasurer Report:

·         Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Dalton Ink, seconded by Jason Ink.

·         Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, an application fee and raffle tickets.

·         Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, gas for mower, shells, IRS form fee and the credit card for office supplies, stamps, an inverter, thrower repairs, NRA dues, kitchen supplies, and a background check.

New Business:

·         The club received a letter from Erie Insurance stating that the club’s policy will chance.  Jeff talked with the representative.  The replacement value was raised to $200,000 and personal property insurance for items such as guns and computers was raised to $5,000.

·         Rob Dillow is holding a class for a retired police officer on September 20th.  The range does not need to be closed.

New Members:

·         One returning applicant, Daniel Myers, sponsored by Donny Myers Jr, was voted into the club.  There were three new applicants, Thomas Keesey, sponsored by Jeff Creswell, and Jared Knight and Joseph Blosenski, both sponsored by Jason Ink.  Jeff went over club rules.

Old Business:

·         The club renewed membership with the NRA for five years.

Unfinished Business:

·         The clay bird thrower has been repaired twice.  It was recommended that the club consult an electrician to find and fix the issue.

·         The application to reinstate the club with the IRS has been disapproved due to an error.  It was resubmitted and may take a few months to get the results.

·         Donny found millings to fill in the drive way ruts.  They will be brought to Donny for the club to use.

·         There was a discussion about delaying shotgun shoots until September since August shoots are usually small.

·         Club members were asked to think of things that could be done on the next workday.

·         The club considered extending the concrete in front of the shooting benches.

·         There is no date as of yet for the next Whitetails Unlimited event involving the club.  It will likely be a few weeks later than the previous one which was in April.

Committee Reports:

·         Jeff got 10 cases of shells which should be enough for the rest of the year.
