Morgantown Rod and Gun Club Meeting Minutes January 22nd, 2025

Meeting Called to Order:

·         7:02 pm by President Brian Ink.

Members in Attendance:

·         There were 10 members in attendance.

Minutes of Last Meeting:

·         Read by Secretary Josh Creswell, motion to accept by Peter Schroll, seconded by Sharon Baer.

Treasurer Report:

·         Read by Treasurer Jeff Creswell, motion to accept by Jason Ink, seconded by Dalton Ink.

·         Income came from the shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, dues, donations, and raffle tickets.

·         Expenses included electric, shotgun shoot, shoot kitchen, shoot raffle, plexiglass, and the credit card for workday supplies and a brass roller rake.

New Business:

·         Jeff and Rich Corday built removable panels for the back porch to reduce wind.  They can be stored in the shed.

·         Peter proposed that the club could host a BB shot for disabled scout members from the John Paul II school.  There is no date as of yet.  During the week would work well.  This should not be an issue provided that the club grounds can accommodate the needs of this group.

·         Sharon brought it to the club’s attention that her and Melissa will be helping at a fish rodeo in Coatesville.  The club donated to this event two years ago and it is possible to donate again when there is more information.

New Members:

·         There were no new members or applicants.

Old Business:

·          A new plexiglass door was installed in the trop house to replace the broken door.

Unfinished Business:

·         The Whitetails Unlimited representative will give the club tickets to sell and promotional items.  The event will be on a Saturday, and they will need members to help during the event and the day before to set up.

·         Rob Dillow will reach out to the club when he knows of more dates that he can hold NRA pistol classes.

·         The Scouts will be using the club grounds on March 8^th from 10AM until 4PM.  Ten to twelve scouts will be attending.  They will hold a fun shoot with no merit badges awarded.  Peter will be helping at this event.  Jeff will open the building and help the group get started

·         There are still dead trees that need removed.

·         Spring raffle tickets are still on sale and can be mailed to anyone who wants to purchase them.

·         Many people have not renewed.  Josh will keep sending out emails to remind members to send in their dues before the deadline.

·         So far, $830 have been collected as donations sent in with renewals which is more than the total of last year.

Committee Reports:

·         The club needs shotgun shells.  Harvey Horst will acquire more. 

·         There were 380 shots at the last shoot and the club earns around $14 per person.
