Instructor Led Only Training: The Instructor Led Only Training takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction. To sign up for the Instructor Led Only

. After selecting a course you will enter your information in the registration fields. The course Instructor will contact you shortly thereafter. Blended Training: The Blended training format provides students the flexibility to complete a significant portion of the course in an eLearning environment, prior to arriving for the classroom and range session with an NRA Certified Instructor. You can find the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Blended course in the same manner as above. When you register for the blended course, you’ll create a unique username and password. The instructor will provide you with a Course Control Code and directions to complete the self-study portion of the course prior to class date. More Details: Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety.

Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

We have scheduled three training and education opportunities for the members of MR&GC in the coming months. These are open to members, their guests and the public. Space is limited so get signed up to reserve your place.

All instruction will be conducted by George Emanuel  in his capacity as an NRA Instructor, and drawing on his long career of shooting and teaching in the civilian and military arenas.



NRA Basic Pistol ($125.00)

September 19, 2021 8:00am to 4:30pm

This Instructor Led class takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. It is a single day course. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Firearms and ammunition required will be supplied by the instructor.

 NRA Basic CCW ($125.00)

October 3, 2021 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Course Goal: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and may be conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range with an Instructor.

NRA CCW takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single-day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction.

Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory), Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills, Drawing from Concealment, Loading and Stoppage Remediation, Mindset, Carry Modes, and Pistol Concealment, Firearm Cleaning, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities. Course length is determined by the Instructor, to meet your State’s requirements for a CCW permit. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive reference books, take an NRA CCW Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

The NRA Basic Pistol Certification Is Required to enroll in this class

Recommend 9mm or larger firearm and required quality Strong Side Hip Holster, Outside Waistband Only. No Serpa or Fabric holsters permitted, mag pouches also required. 200 rds of ammunition, likely use 100 or less.

The sign-up will indicate 8:00 am til 11:45 pm, this is an administrative function. Depending on class member skill and participation we should finish about 5:00 pm

 


 

Certified NRA Home Firearm Safety Training Course ($10.00)

October 17, 2021 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Take charge of your family’s safety and get the basic knowledge and skills to safely handle or store firearms and ammunition in the home. Learn more about the NRA-certified home firearm safety training course.

This is a Non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge and skills to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms/ammunition in the home.

This four-hour course for safe gun handling is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearm accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, and course completion certificate.

This course is presented at no charge by the Morgantown Rod and Gun Club, you will pay only for the materials which you will receive as outlined above.

We will be teaching you so that you can speak on the subject and teach your children, therefore it will not be necessary to bring them with you. We will be happy to refer you to a class appropriate to and designed specifically for children
